Are You Taking Responsibility?
“When I don’t own my personal decisions or choices…. there is no learning!” ~ John G. Miller
A couple months back, my good friend Cheryl Marr handed me the book QBQ The Question behind the Question by John G. Miller and it sat on my night stand in my stack of books to read until finally decided I needed to get it off my list. I could NOT put the book down and instantly went online to order several copies to give out.
I was so inspired by the book, I thought… I HAVE to talk to this author. So I reached out and was so shocked and excited when he agreed to do a podcast with me.
If you are anything like me you will LOVE this lively conversation we had about business, parenting and life that will be sure to inspire you to STEP up your game and take responsibility for what you put out there in the world.

I would LOVE… LOVE… LOVE to hear your thoughts on this one. Please hop on over to my blog and leave a comment. Oh and by the way here is my favorite quote from the podcast: “Procrastination is the friend of failure”. So stop what you are doing and listen in and leave a comment.
Great interview Marguerite, I was not familiar with QBQ or John Miller. Insightful, I look forward to purchasing and reading his books. I have a 2 & 4 year old. Sometimes you question your methods of parenting; am I being to strict?, is this typical behavior that they will grow out of? I like John’s phrase “our children are a product of our parenting”. Thanks again, keep sharing. I’m praying for the best for your family. You will have a talk show some day, you are definitely in your wheelhouse.
Preston Collier
Thank you Preston! Yes the parenting part really hit home for me as my youngest son moved out recently to venture out on his own and while I had a tough time with it, I think I did a pretty good job raising my kids thanks in large part to a great partner/husband/dad but because I so believe what John said about taking responsibility! Great stuff! I am glad you enjoyed it:) Thanks for your support!
Preston, appreciate your kind words. Yes, QBQ! works! Enjoy!
Thanks Marguerite for another great podcast! This was a very thought provoking interview. The first thing I thought was “I know someone who needs to read QBQ” but as I continued to listen I realized that it’s I who needs to read it. Seems it’s always our first instinct to point the finger or blame at someone else, but what really needs to happen is we need to step up, take responsibility, and take action towards resolution. Once again you have inspired me to read an amazing book.
Susan, Amen! Easy to think of others who need more PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY! Even I – the author – have done that! 🙂
Loved it. The accountabilty factor from parenting to business and everything in the middle. In life we sometimes would like to look at blaming anything and everything on something or someone rather then just taking ownership of it. In the last 2 years I have finally come to the conclusion, that not only our words but our questions we ask oursleves can detour or determine where we are going. Great interview!!! Thank You “M”
